It’s been a lovely weekend, I had a stunning breakfast with my wife yesterday at a lovely restaurant on Table Mountain with the pine forest at our backs and the ocean on the horizon, the best view you can imagine, food was not bad either.
So, what did you choose for breakfast this morning?
You probably have heard this a thousand times before but it is true, breakfast is a very important meal and what you put into your body 1st thing in the morning or not tells throughout the day.
The 1st couple of hours after we woke up is the bodies time to clean out and recharge for the day ahead. If is the time when we can literally kick-start our metabolism to get going and use the calories we ingest. Note: a cup of coffee on your way to work is not a good breakfast, a bowl of cereal heaped with sugar neither.
I’m a firm believer in a breakfast smoothie.
It is an quick, easy, tasty way in which you can get a power start to the day and one of the things you should do when you’re 40 something male (suffering fromandropause) is take extra protein daily, so what better way than a breakfast smoothie.
My smoothie recipe consist 1x banana, a handful of blackberries, a table spoon of oat bran (very good for lowering cholesterol), a table spoon of protein powder (whey is the best), a couple of ice cubes, some fat free plain yogurt and fat free milk for a smooth finish and presto there you have a power breakfast second to none.
