Menopause traditionally occurs in a woman’s late forties to early fifties, but the timing can vary widely from person to person.

Some of the contributing factors are -
*** Trauma, prolonged stress can stop the production of sex hormones.
*** Surgery, when the ovaries are removed menopause starts immediately.
*** Low body weight, can bring on menopause due to low hormone out put by the ovaries.
*** Being overweight, can delay menopause because extra fat increases estradiol.
*** Adrenal fatigue, caused buy poor diet and too much stress can cause early menopause.
Smokers generally experience early menopause, while active, healthy women mostly experience late menopause.
Definition - Menopause means a woman’s last menses, is the cessation of menstruation, when the ovaries cease releasing eggs and producing estrogen.
Symptoms Of Menopause - Symptoms include hot flushes, memory loss, depression and irritability, mood swings, vaginal dryness and pain, insomnia, low sex drive, night sweats, weight gain, incontinence, inability to focus and concentrate, heart palpitations and nausea.
Dietary Considerations - Add soy foods to your diet and eat fresh fruit ,vegetables and nuts. Eat 6 small meals during the day and avoid overeating. Limit sugar, caffeine, pies, cakes, pastries, fatty red meat and dairy products. Consider changing your eating habits to conform more to a low carb regime like the Atkins diet, get a FREE copy of the Atkins diet plan here.
Special note for women: Take care of your adrenals and they won’t let you down. During the menopausal stages the adrenal gland do double work picking up the slack that occurs in ovarian function. Your adrenals can only perform this function properly when they are in good condition and not sapped by stress, insomnia and poor diet. The results are hormonal free fall and severe symptoms. So take care of your glands now and it will save you a lot of suffering further on. Read more about adrenal fatigue on this blog.
Lifestyle Changes To Consider -
*** Have a bone density test done.
*** Get regular mammograms done
*** Do some weight training with a regular exercise routine
*** Laugh a lot, enjoy yourself
*** Get regular messages
*** Practice some deep breathing, in and out of the bedroom
*** Consider taking up yoga or Pilates. “Stretch be a copy cat.”
Most of all don’t let menopause and the symptoms of menopause get you down, you are unique and the world will be a poorer place without your input.

It’s surprising how many women find themselves incontinent at some point in their lives. Whether it is a temporary issue during an illness, or the effects of giving birth, it is said that 1 in 4 women encounter this problem at some point in their lives not just during or after menopause.
Hopefully the stigma of incontinence can be erased and more women can seek help or not feel uncomfortable about doing those activities that they love.
This was a very nice post.

Don’t forget! Acupuncture & Chinese herbal therapy can help lessen the symptoms of menopause in a natural way. It regulates the body systems so that there’s less incidence of hot flashes, night sweats, etc. Women who receive acupuncture prior to & during the onset of menopause find that they are affected less, too!
Nice post - thanks.

It’s too bad there is such a stigma is still attached to incontinence and the wearing of protection. Hopefully blogs like yours and others out there can make a difference in squashing the stigma and having those people suffering from this condition get the assistance they need without losing any of their dignity.
Thanks for this great information!
FYI, thanks for your contribution I appreciate it. It is true and the problem with these stigmas are that it is our perceptions of others opinions that complicate matters.
From my side I believe that we can conquer all through love and compassion and that those traits makes us human, we’re all entitled to our place in the sun and it is only through you feelings towards others that your true nature is revealed.
Always have fun!
