1. Simplify your life. Learn to say NO the next time you are asked to over extend yourself. Take stock of your time, money and energy, and determine whether you really need you currently stress about. How can you free up more time to spend with loved one’s relaxing?
2. Get enough sleep. Most people don’t. If you suffer from insomnia, establish a bedtime pattern and stick to it, even on weekends.
3. Eat well. Apart from eating a wholesome diet. Turn mealtimes into a pleasant family get together.
4. Exercise. Remember the focus of the exercise is lifetime fitness, which means regular exercise like walking for 20 to 30 minutes four times a week. Yoga is also a good alternative.
5. Have fun. Actively schedule fun time into your calender. Interaction with people is an excellent way to relax. Also make sure you have some quite time just for yourself to recharge.
6. Maintain a support system. Spend time with your loved ones. Go camping with the family. If your alone join a support group or volunteer for a worthy cause.

7. Meditate and pray. Find ways to focus energy on a meaning and purpose beyond your everyday life.
8. Keep your sense of humor. Laughter releases tension and heals. As your granny used to remind you, laughter is the best medicine.
9. Be assertive. Do not bottle emotions up. Let it out, it is not worth stressing about. If you can’t write it out and let it out.
10. Be creative. Get a hobby, paint, sing, play in a band, indulge your creative side, have fun.
11. Give of yourself. It feels good to help somebody else, it is rewarding and will give meaning to yourself. Learn to be greatful no matter what.
12. Pamper yourself. Take a relaxing bath, get a message, stop and smell the roses.
