3 Reasons Why Sunscreen Might Be Bad For Your Health!

1) Sunscreen blocks the production of melanin (the pigment causing a protective tan to form), resulting in a higher risk of skin cancer.

2) Sunscreen blocks the production of vitamin D. A deficiency of vitamin D weakens the immune system and increases the risk of heart disease and cancer.

In children especially, vitamin D deficiency is also correlated with tooth decay and crooked teeth.

3) Many of the chemicals found in sunscreens are actually carcinogenic (cancer causing) and oestrogenic.

WARNING - If you see any of the following ingredients, steer clear: benzophenones (dixoybenzone, oxybenzone), PABA and PABA esters (ethyl dihydroxy propyl PAB, glyceryl PABA, p-aminobenzoic acid, padimate-O or octyl dimethyl PABA), cinnamates (cinoxate, ethylhexyl p-methoxycinnamate, octocrylene, octyl methoxycinnamate), salicylates (ethylhexyl salicylate, homosalate, octyl salicylate), Digalloyl trioleate, Menthyl anthranilate and Avobenzone.

It is absolutely vital that you get educated on the basic health of your family, the mighty dollar tends to cloud many businesses sound judgment where it concerns your good health.

Protect your immune system with 15 minutes of direct sunshine daily, else you can supplement.

4 Reasons Why You Should Get Some Sun Today.

Published by Frederick Konig under health

Contrary to what sunscreen manufacturers wish you to believe, sunshine is not a death ray and sufficient vitamin D is vital to your health

It is a healing ray.

Here are four main benefits of sun exposure:

1. It boosts neuropeptides that elevate mood and regulate appetite.

2. It reduces the risk of the deadly skin cancer melanoma and 16 other types of cancer.

3. It reduces the risk of osteoporosis and increases bone density as a result of enhanced “mineralisation.”

4. It increases libido.

Important we are not suggesting that you or your family should ever get sunburned.

You can definitely get too much of a good thing.

Cover up with clothing to block the sun and go indoors if your skin is getting pink.

We recommend that you get 15 minutes of direct sunlight everyday in order for your body to manufacture enough vitamin D else a good vitamin D supplement is important.

Warning - Hormone Treatment For Prostate Cancer May Affect Your Brain.

Published by Frederick Konig under prostate cancer

Where it comes to prostate cancer, once again I would like to stress prevention rather than cure.

For fear of sounding like a stuck record I would like to highlight some recent findings published in the media, concerning prostate cancer.

A recent review of the literature has found that hormone deprivation therapy, a commonly used treatment for , may have subtle adverse effects on cognition in patients–such as in the ability to recall and concentrate.

Published in the September 1, 2008 issue of CANCER, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Cancer Society, the study indicates that clinicians and patients should be aware of these potential effects and watch closely for their appearance.

For years, hormone deprivation therapy, also known as androgen depletion therapy, has been used as an effective treatment for prostate cancer because hormones such as testosterone drive the growth of prostate cancer cells.

The most common way to achieve androgen depletion is through chemical castration with drugs such as leuprolide and goserelin.

Androgen depletion therapy has traditionally been reserved for advanced cases of prostate cancer, but increasing numbers of men with earlier stages of the disease are also undergoing the treatment.

I must say alarming an questions that come to mind here, if hormone therapy affects your brain and your brain being one of the major areas of attack when it comes to Alzheimer’s and dementia could there be a link?

My advice to you is, do all you can to prevent prostate cancer (the no1 cancer amongst men).

Make sure that you know what you are up against and the simple yet effective natural way in which to promote prostate health and prevent prostate cancer.

Alzheimer’s and Aluminum - What You Should Know.

Published by Frederick Konig under alzheimer's

The role of aluminum in the development of has been a rather controversial topic for quite a while.

According to history alum was 1st utilized in water purification in Frankfurt in 1880, the 1st cases were noticed in the vicinity 27 years later in 1907 by one Alois Alzheimer.

The theory behind aluminum being a factor in the development in Alzheimer’s is because it binds to an iron carrying protein know as transferrin which focuses on the brain region..

It was found that aluminum accumulates in the brain in regions where transferrin receptors are highest and that it also reduces magnesium function in vital metabolic reactions in the brain.

In recent years there has been a number studies for and against aluminum as an Alzheimer’s risk factor, nobody has yet been able to give conclusive evidence either way.

We recommend that until conclusive evidence appears you try and avoid aluminum, just to be on the safe side!

In the meantime don’t get caught off guard, be on the look out for these 10 Alzheimer’s warning signs.
