The Relationship Between Obesity Heart Disease and Diabetes A Comprehensive Study.

Thought I’d be mean today seeing that it is the 13th and all.

By Steven M. Haffner - Department of Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology, University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas.

The prevalence of obesity and diabetes has reached pandemic proportions. Obesity, particularly in association with high waist circumference and high BMI, is an independent risk factor for coronary heart disease (CHD) and diabetes. Several large studies have shown that marginal (5 lb) to moderate (11 to 22 lb) weight gain in adulthood (age 20 to 50 years) increases the risk of chronic disease and negatively affects CHD risk status. The metabolic syndrome, a clustering of cardiovascular and metabolic risk factors that includes abdominal obesity, is increasing among adults and children and is strongly associated with the development of diabetes and CHD. Recent evidence suggests that elevated liver enzymes, an indicator of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, may comprise an additional component of the metabolic syndrome and may serve as a surrogate marker for type 2 diabetes, particularly if used in conjunction with C-reactive protein.

Prevent diabetes and heart disease and you can add 10 years to your lifespan, simple.

How do you do this, read this blog it is full of relevant info, else improve your diet, exercise, have regular sex and practice stress relief.

3 Reasons Why Sunscreen Might Be Bad For Your Health!

Published by Frederick Konig under health

3 Reasons Why Sunscreen Might Be Bad For Your Health!

1) Sunscreen blocks the production of melanin (the pigment causing a protective tan to form), resulting in a higher risk of skin cancer.

summer.jpg

2) Sunscreen blocks the production of vitamin D. A deficiency of vitamin D weakens the immune system and increases the risk of heart disease and cancer.

In children especially, vitamin D deficiency is also correlated with tooth decay and crooked teeth.

3) Many of the chemicals found in sunscreens are actually carcinogenic (cancer causing) and oestrogenic.

WARNING - If you see any of the following ingredients, steer clear: benzophenones (dixoybenzone, oxybenzone), PABA and PABA esters (ethyl dihydroxy propyl PAB, glyceryl PABA, p-aminobenzoic acid, padimate-O or octyl dimethyl PABA), cinnamates (cinoxate, ethylhexyl p-methoxycinnamate, octocrylene, octyl methoxycinnamate), salicylates (ethylhexyl salicylate, homosalate, octyl salicylate), Digalloyl trioleate, Menthyl anthranilate and Avobenzone.

It is absolutely vital that you get educated on the basic health of your family, the mighty dollar tends to cloud many businesses sound judgment where it concerns your good health.

Protect your immune system with 15 minutes of direct sunshine daily, else you can supplement.

In this article, I talk about how we can transcend this fear by putting our attention on what we’re contributing in our new career rather than how it’s perceived.”
